Mutharika criticizes Tonse Alliance Government as tribal and regional
By Burnett Munthali
Former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has launched a vehement critique of the Tonse Alliance government, accusing it of being dominated by a single tribe, region, and denomination. In a recent statement, Mutharika claimed that the current administration fails to represent all Malawians and must be replaced.
“This is not a government of all Malawians,” Mutharika declared. “We are therefore coming back to form ‘Boma Lokomera Amalawi Onse’ (A Government That Serves All Malawians) and we are going to win with a landslide.”
Mutharika’s comments reflect ongoing political tensions and dissatisfaction with the Tonse Alliance’s governance, as he positions himself and his party as the alternative solution for a more inclusive administration.
