State President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has applauded the life of late Vice President Saulos Chilima as a humble person during the four year tenure he has been with him in office.
Chakwera said he learnt from Chilima not to hold grudges with one another as well as being determined and confirmed even in tough times.
Speaking at a memorial service of late Vice President Saulos Chilima at Bingu National Stadium, the Malawi learder said no one expected of this tragedy and that as a country everyone is devastated.
“I know that to the Chilima family you have lost a very important person as you were always depending on him same applies with UTM family, this is so devastating and disappointing,” he said.
He also said to him that every Malawian has a lot of questions with no answers on what really caused this tragic circumstance.
But he has pleaded with all Malawians to still seek the face of God in this hard time as the government will be working hand in hand with different agencies, including MDF, to establish the truth behind the matter.
