Jumah says Govt arms now in conflict of interest

By Vincent Gunde

Pioneer of Muvi wa Chilungamo Mindset Change Project Bantu Saunders Jumah claims that the Executive and Legislature arms of Government are all now in conflict of interest influencing decisions to benefit them and not for the country and citizens.

Jumah has faulted President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani-Hara and the 193 Members of Parliament wrong for playing a great role towards promoting their conflict of interest in making laws that are not benefiting the country.

He said it all started with the Constitutional Court judges sitting on 3rd February, 2020 nullifying the May, 2019 Presidential Elections after observing that the elections were marred by serios irregularities claiming that the judges used their conflict of interest in pronouncing judgement to the case.

Speaking through his Facebook Page followed by millions of people in Malawi and Africa, Jumah said the judges did not declare DPP wrong but twisting the wrong decision to nullify the elections without knowing that the same could come in the future.

He has noted with great concern that the President and Parliament are twisting the wrong decision by influencing their personal interest that Members of Parliament should serve for 6 years in office while President Chakwera 5 years.

Juma has however, called for the impeachment of the Executive headed by the President and Parliament for doing something contrary to the demand of the Republican Constitution by twisting the laws of the country to benefit them.

The Mindset Change Pioneer said both the Executive and Legislature arms of Government have committed the most serious crime that there is no law supporting MPs to be in office for 6 years taking advantage that President Chakwera was elected basing on repeated elections in June, 2020.

“In 2012 Madam Joyce Banda completed 2 years left by the departed President Bingu wa Mutharika, if it was to change the electoral calendar, in 2017 Malawians could have gone to the elections,” said Jumah.

He said he does not understand how special the elections of 2020 were in line with the Republican Constitution wondering that probably Madam Joyce Banda was not fit enough to serve for 4 years only completing 2 years in office.

Jumah said Malawians and Muvi wa Chilungamo visionaries have held President Chakwera and the entire 193 members of the National Assembly accountable for applying conflict of interest to benefit them without consulting the citizens and chiefs.

He said it is the wish of each and every Malawian to see to it that a law be a law and that any Bill passed by Parliament, signed by the President into law should not be based on individual interest for democracy to be sustained in Malawi.
