President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera on Friday 1st December 2023 hosted a diplomats dinner in honour of members of the diplomatic corps at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.
Updating Malawians through his Facebook page, Chakwera said diplomatic corps remain one of the critical partners in development.
“In 2023, Malawi emerged stronger from national crises such as cyclone Freddy, cholera outbreak and drought due to the enduring solidarity, empathy and generosity of these international friends,” writes the Malawi leader.
“In addition, their great ideas, advice and advocacy on our behalf played a role in the attainment of an Extended Credit Facility (ECF) from International Monetary Fund (IMF) which is so far attracting international investments and budgetary support into our economy.”
Chakwera has since pledged to reinforce ties with all nations and partners that share Malawi’s development aspirations.
