Cabinet Minister Zikhale Ng’oma to donate his salary to cyclone victims

Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma says he will donate his Salary for the month of March to victims of Cyclone Freddy in Chilobwe Township in Blantyre.

Ng’oma made the pledge on Thursday at Naotcha Camp where he also gave out 200 thousand kwacha cash to the victims.

“I grew up in Zingwangwa and Chilobwe and it’s devastating seeing people suffering because of the impact of the Cyclone,” said Ng’oma.

In his remarks, Group Village Headman Chilobwe thanked the Government and the Minister, organizations and all well-wishers for the support they have been offering in this difficult period.

Over 225 people has died and over 707 others have suffered various degrees of injuries. About 88,313 people have been displaced and many others are still missing.
