Malawi Government, Spanish Football Club ‘CD Leganes’ in a sponsorship deal

Spanish Football Club C.D. Leganés Leganés will from January 22, 2023 start sporting a jersey with the “Malawi, The Warm Heart of Africa” logo following an agreement between the club and the Government of Malawi to join the club’s rotating main sponsor strategy.

The strategy allows companies from different sectors to have the opportunity to associate themselves with the club and enjoy the notoriety that comes with being a “main sponsor”.

This will go a long way in helping Malawi to continue with its strategy of expanding brand awareness.

According to a statement from Malawi Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife, the agreement has come with no cost to the Ministry.
“This is a gracious offer for the brand as it has come with No Cost to the Ministry and Malawi as a Country is proud to be associated with CD Leganes and we believe that this exposure will not only be able to reach,” reads the statement in part.

Apart from being displayed on the front of the first team kits during matches, the
“Malawi, The Warm Heart of Africa” logo will also be be displayed in different media platforms.

“Malawi, The warm heart of Africa” will begin to appear on the team’s shirts this coming Sunday as Leganes plays Levante UD at the Estadio Municipal Butarque.

In September last year, CD Leganes President, Jeff Luhnow, met Malawi’s President, Lazarus Chakwera, in United States of America to strengthen ties and begin the search for opportunities and talent in football.
