Wendy Harawa launches album as Prophet Bushiri buys CD at K16 million Kwacha

Gospel musician Wendy Harawa’s ‘Wandiyitana’ album launch was sold out as music lovers filled to capacity the 1,500 seater Bingu International Convention Center (BICC) auditorium in Lilongwe on Sunday night.

Renowned American gospel singer Travis Greene, Zambian popular musician Abel Chungu, Malawi’s finest music performers Lulu and Paul Kachala were among the musicians that entertained people during the night.



The album launch was also streamed live at Wendy Harawa’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

During the event Phophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary, purchased the ‘Wandiyitana’ CD at the highest price of 16 million kwacha followed by Minister of Youth and Sports Richard Chimwendo Banda who bought the album at 1.2 million kwacha.

President Lazarus Chakwera’s son Pastor Nick Chakwera and his wife Rudo who also happens to be Harawa’s close friends bought the CD at 1 million kwacha.

Popular musician-cum politician Lucius Banda and Tadala Chihana wife to Leader of Alliance for Democracy (Aford) Enoch Chihana, bought the album at 800 thousand kwacha.

Gospel hip-hop musician Gwamba bought the CD at 600 thousand kwacha and many more fans purchased the CD at various prices.

Meanwhile the ‘Unalonjeza’ hit maker has since thanked her fans for the support they have been giving her throughout her music career to this date.
