Finance Minister Gwengwe to interface Malawians in the diaspora this Saturday

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Hon Sosten Gwengwe will this coming Saturday March 5th hold an interface with Malawians who are living in the Diaspora. This interface will aim at giving the Minister an opportunity to hear from the diaspora on a number of economic issues that will help shape the future of Malawi economy

According to the organisers of the event, a group called Malawi Congress Party Diaspora Network (MCPDN), Hon Sosten Gwengwe is expected to address the diaspora and engage in question and answers. The event is scheduled to start at 7pm Malawi time and will be done virtually using Zoom Platform

MCPDN communications Director Nic Thindwa confirmed that indeed the Finance Minister will have time to engage with the Diaspora. “This is another opportunity for the diaspora to have a say on the economic matter of our country” Thindwa said.

In a separate interview with MCPDN Chaiperson Chalo Mvula , he said this is not the first time that the group has invited a cabinet minister for an interface. Mvula reiterated that the event is open for all Malawians regardless of their political affiliation 

“ Hon Gwengwe is open to speak to all Malawians in the diaspora regardless of which party they belong to , our organisation has just facilitated this , giving a platform to the diaspora to have a face to face interaction with the Minister and discuss Malawi economy , the recently delivered budget and  issues pertaining to the diaspora” Mvula Said
