Peterkins Kayira elected President of Darts Association of Malawi

Peterkins Kayira, a football legend, has been elected as the new president of the Darts Association of Malawi (DAM) during an elective general assembly at Civo Club House in Lilongwe.

Kayira was elected unopposed and will be deputised by Memory Manjawira, with Victor Chawinga as secretary general and Charles Mughogho as treasurer.

Fanny Phiri, Sports Officer for the Central Region at the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNSC), presided over the elections and advised the new committee to work as a team.

“I urge you to work as one.You have been entrusted with this responsibility because the delegates have expectations. Prove to them that you can take darts to another level.”Phiri explained.

Phiri also emphasized the importance of investing in the youth and starting at the grassroots level.

In his acceptance speech, Kayira promised to work hard to develop the game and find sponsorship.

“I will work to develop the game and also find sponsors.My committee will also be transparent and accountable to the members”he said.

The new committee has a challenging task ahead, but with Kayira’s leadership and Phiri’s guidance, they are expected to take darts in Malawi to new heights.
