Football Legend Yasin Osman Laid to Rest in Ntcheu

The family of the late football coach Yasin Osman has expressed gratitude to the football community for their overwhelming support following his passing on Monday, April 21, 2025. 

During the funeral at Balaka Estate in Ntcheu District, Alaudin Osman, Yasin’s elder brother, thanked the Mighty Wanderers family for their unwavering support. Yasin, who served as the club’s Technical Director until his death, was described as a dedicated servant of Malawian football. 



Representing the Malawi National Council of Sports, Chairperson Dr. Sunduzwayo Madise praised Osman as a cornerstone of the nation’s football development. “His contributions were immense, and his legacy will endure,” Madise said. 

Christopher Madalitso Kuyera, FAM’s First Vice President, acknowledged Osman’s pivotal role as former General Secretary, stating, “FAM’s progress is built on the foundations laid by individuals like him.” 

Mighty Wanderers Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe honored Osman as “one of the club’s greatest sons,” pledging that his impact would never be forgotten. 

Yasin Osman was laid to rest in an emotional ceremony attended by family, football officials, and fans. His legacy as a player, coach, and administrator remains etched in Malawian football history.
