According to the official results, Dimba secured a total of 1,260 votes from MCP delegates and members eligible to vote in the primaries.

In a dramatic show of dominance, his closest contender only managed to gather a mere 37 votes, highlighting the overwhelming support Dimba commands within his constituency.

The primary election was closely monitored by party officials and independent observers, who commended the orderly manner in which the process was conducted.

Political analysts have noted that such a wide margin of victory reflects not only Dimba’s grassroots popularity but also his effectiveness in representing the interests of his constituents over the past years.

Supporters in the area expressed their satisfaction with the results, many citing Dimba’s hands-on approach to community development projects and his accessibility to the people.

Dimba’s win means he will be the MCP’s official candidate in the upcoming general elections, where he is widely expected to retain his seat due to his established presence and performance in the area.

This victory comes at a crucial time for the MCP, which is preparing to defend its leadership position in the next polls amid increasing pressure from opposition parties.

Speaking after the announcement of the results, Dimba thanked his supporters for the trust and confidence they had placed in him once again.

He emphasized his commitment to continue advocating for job creation, economic empowerment, and social services improvement not only in his constituency but across Malawi through his ministerial role.

Dimba also called for unity within the party ranks, urging both his supporters and those of his competitors to work together in strengthening the MCP’s presence and vision in the region.

With this victory, Dimba cements his place as one of the key political figures in Lilongwe and a central player in shaping the MCP’s strategies as the country moves closer to the next general elections.

The MCP leadership has since congratulated him and expressed optimism that his candidacy will enhance the party’s chances of retaining the constituency.

This primary election outcome serves as a clear message that Dimba’s leadership continues to resonate with the people, positioning him as a formidable force within Malawi’s political landscape.
