Malawi Goverment allocates K150 Billion Support for Farmers

Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu announcement highlights the impact of easy access to agricultural inputs on women and youths. The National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) has attracted these demographics to venture into farming as a business, fostering an enterprising spirit among them.
The government’s allocation of K150 billion to the NEEF Farm Input Loan Programme demonstrates its commitment to supporting the agricultural sector. This initiative is part of the Agriculture Commercialisation pillar under Malawi 2063, aiming to promote commercial farming and improve food security.
The Santhe area in Kasungu has achieved a remarkable 100% repayment rate of loans under NEEF. This success story showcases the community’s dedication to economic empowerment and responsible borrowing practices.
Farmers Encouraged to Maximize Loan Benefits
NEEF Board Chairperson Jephta Mtema urged farmers to make the most of the loan programme. By doing so, they can improve their agricultural productivity, increase their incomes, and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
