Sources tips Kalindo of arrests two days before demos

By Vincent Gunde

Political activist Bon Kalindo says he is ready to be arrested and charged for the offence of inciting violence and ready to be killed for speaking nothing but the truth that if panga wielding MCP thugs are left unchecked, civil war will break out in Malawi.

Kalindo has claimed that after releasing an audio clip condemning MCP thugs carrying pangas and other offensive weapons against peaceful demonstrators in Lilongwe that one day other people will retaliate through door-to-door hunting of the assassins in their respective houses and locations, the police have translated this, as inciting violence.

He said even former Presidents of the Republic Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Madam Dr. Joyce Banda and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika have strongly condemned MCP for harboring assassins describing this as undermining democracy and the rule of law in Malawi.

The activist has claimed that if these former presidents were ruling the country today, they would have gone to the state-run radio and TV MBC to condemn MCPs perpetrated political violence but President Chakwera cannot do this.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said arresting him for condemning violence being perpetrated by MCP thugs is inciting violence while those who carried pangas against peaceful demonstrators, is not inciting violence, is a welcome development.

Kalindo has asked the Inspector General of Police Madam Yolamu to arrest him now and not waiting to arrest him two days before his Malawi First Movement organizes another demonstration and vigils in Lilongwe at the Mec’s head office to demand answers for Malawian concerns.

He has advised those who have been assigned to assassinate him to be ready claiming that he will be killed and them shall not live on this Earthly World for life they will follow him to the grave, God of the living cannot allow them to stay forever.

The activist has accused some police officers of hiding in police while they are working with the MCP terrorizing innocent people holding peaceful demonstrations and their involvement in the meetings that are aimed at taking lives of innocent people at the expense of serving the MCP.

He has described President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s leadership as of no direction assuring him that even if the police can arrest him for 1000 times, nothing will change in Malawi, fuel scarcity will be the older of the day, hunger crisis and no forex and fertilizer.

“You will score a political point in arresting and assassinating me but you will not succeed in silencing 20 million plus citizens in a country of democracy,” said Kalindo.

He said the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) is mandated to keep government and NGOs money if theirs is excess and such the MCP government should stop blaming NGOs of draining a lot of forex in Malawi but faulting President Chakwera wrong for his unnecessary international and local travels for no impact to the country and its citizens.
