Hip-hop star Penjani Kalua popularly know by his stage name ‘Fredokiss’ has officially announced that he will contest as a Presidential candidate during the upcoming UTM convention.
Writing on his official Facebook page, the rapper said time has come for the youths to take a leading role in shaping a brighter nation.
“The time has come for the youth to be bold enough to be counted. We cannot leave this fight to the same players—we must take charge of our future. The journey to 2025 starts now. Let’s shape a brighter Malawi together!”, reads the statement in part.
Other candidates likely to battle for the position include the party’s Secretary General Patricia Kaliati, Economist Dalitso Kabambe, renowned Engineer and businessman Matthews Mtumbuka and Development Specialist who is currently serving as the country’s vice president, Michael Usi.
