Lilongwe, Malawi – The scenic Peak Gardens in Lilongwe played host to a vibrant gathering of animal lovers, families, and enthusiasts on Saturday, as the Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (LSPCA) hosted its highly anticipated Family Fun Day.
The event, which featured a dog show as its main attraction, drew scores of residents from across the city, all united in their support for animal welfare programmes.
According to LSPCA communications officer Gracious Chimbalanga, the event served as a crucial fundraising initiative for the organization. “The proceeds from today’s event will directly support our ongoing efforts to protect and care for animals across Malawi,” Chimbalanga explained.
The dog show, which took center stage at the event, showcased an impressive array of canine breeds, ranging from sleek greyhounds to adorable poodles. Proud owners and their furry companions strutted their stuff, vying for top honors in various categories.
