MRP says Malawi need an interim government for a new Constitution
By Vincent Gunde
President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, says Malawi more than before needs an Interim or a caretaker government to draft a new Constitution that will put public wire surrounding politicians saying this will not make them to kill each other.
Jumah said the walking out of UTM from the Alliance with the MCP is speaking for itself that the MCP is running an illegal government hence a great demand for a caretaker government to call for early elections in Malawi.
He has reminded Malawians that as from 21st May, 2024 the country has no government and Parliament saying the Republican Constitution is very clear that there shall be elections every after 5 years and that 5 years mandate ended on 21st May, 2024.
Speaking through a Revolutionary voice in various media platforms in Malawi and Africans in the continent, Jumah said Members of Parliament (MPs) extended their term of office to 6 years and quarter month with President Chakwera ruling for 5 years.
Jumah has argued that one year of the 5 years term of office was done by Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika from May, 2019 to June, 2024 saying if Parliament was for the people, Malawians could have been consulted on the way forward for their country.
He said MCP has proved itself to be a government of crooks, they extended the politicians mandate to continue in their positions own their own using their educational qualifications to fool the citizens who most of them are ignorant clapping hands for useless things.
The MRP President has observed that the learned judges are quiet wondering what is making the judges to be quiet when an illegal government led by President Chakwera is running the country questioning where is he getting powers to govern the people.
“As from 21st May, 2024 there is no government and Parliament in Malawi, UTM is out of the Alliance, why MCP is continuing ruling in government and which Constitution is it using in government?” question Jumah.
He said Malawi politics is one of the dirtiest salvage politics taking the citizens for granted observing that Malawians are tired with this government for the type of politics it is playing saying until such a day Malawi make the laws that protect citizen taxes, the country shall see exit from salvage politics.
