The catholic church through the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) has congratulated the new Vice President Michael Usi.
In a congratulatory statement signed by ECM president Archbishop George Tambala, the institution acknowledges Usi’s commitment to the development of the country, citing his track record as a case in point. The church also says it is hopeful that newly-appointed Vice President Michael Usi will play an instrumental role in upholding justice, fairness and equality.
“His long and distinguished career, marked by a commitment to public service and a deep understanding of the needs of our people qualifies him for this challenging role,” reads the statement.
ECM says it expects the new Vice President to uphold tenets of justice, fairness and equality for all.
ECM is a plenary assembly of bishops, the Catholic Secretariat and its six committees.
