Netball League gets K100 million boost from Rainbow Paints

Rainbow Paints Limited has extended its sponsorship of the Blantyre and Districts Netball League (BDNL) for an additional five years, with a total value of K100 million.

This represents a significant increase from the previous annual package of K12 million to K20 million, a 66% adjustment.

Speaking during the signing ceremony at Malawi Sun Hotel in Blantyre on Thursday, Rainbow Paints Limited’s technical sales and marketing executive, Wezi Chirwa, stated that the company aims to continue supporting the development of netball in Malawi.

On his part, BDNL chairperson, Vitumbiko Gubuduza, acknowledged Rainbow Paints Limited’s consistent support, describing them as a valued partner.

Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) vice-president, Junia Kazembe, encouraged other corporate entities to follow Rainbow Paints’ example in supporting netball.

Guest of honor, Felistus Dossi, and Sports Writers Association of Malawi (SWAM) president, Mphatso Malidadi, emphasized the importance of innovation in promoting the sponsor’s brand and safeguarding the sponsorship.

BDNL has produced the country’s big name netball players such as Australia-based shooter Mwawi Kumwenda-M’mbwana and Towera Vinkhumbo-Nyirenda
