Senior Chief Malili laid to rest

The body of Senior Chief Malili of Lilongwe has yesterday day October 24, 2023 been laid to rest at his Chiwenga headquarters in Lilongwe.
The late Malili died last Friday after getting involved in a car accident at Kambanizithe in Mitundu.
Hundreds of people gathered to escort the Senior Chief on his last mile.
Representing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera at the funeral, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Owen Chomanika, described the death of Malili as a loss not only to the area but to the country at large.
“We have lost a great man who was contributing alot to the nation. May his soul rest well in peace,” said Chomanika.
The Deputy Minister added that the late Malili worked perfectly well with the Tonse-led government in implementing development projects.
He said it is sad because since September alone, five chiefs have died a thing which is slowing down development.
Chief Malili real name Luciano Chatsenda born on March 18,1964.
He was installed as Traditional Authority(T/A) Malili in 2014 and was elevated to Senior Chief Malili on March 1, 2021.
He has left behind three wives and six children.
