Mzimba Heritage Association(MZIHA) on Wednesday announced that it has almost raised all the K53 million which was budgeted for this year’s Umthetho cultural event scheduled to take place from August 9 to August 12, 2023.
The association’s General Secretary (GS) Kingsley Jere, said that at this point, all preparations for the event are now almost complete.
He said they have invited President Lazarus Chakwera to the event.
“We have also invited Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima to the event. We are waiting for responses from the two leaders,” he said.
Jere concluded that the event which will take place at the foot of the historical Hora Mountain in the Rumphi district will spiced by international guests (Ngonis) from Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Tanzania.
