48-year-old Chembe Ngamila arrested over murder in Mchinji

Chembe Ngamila, 48, is in police custody in Mchinji on suspecion that he killed two people and snatched their motorbike last week at Lameki village,in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Mkanda in the district.

Mchinji police publicist Limbani Mpinganjira said during the night of Tuesday last week, the deceased Mattias Mwale, aged 27, and Mphatso Nyowani Banda, 31, who were buying farm produce in the area, were found dead with their motorbike stolen.



He said upon investigating the matter, the person who bought the motorbike disclosed to have bought it from the suspect.

Mpinganjira adds that police in the district are still hunting for other two suspects commonly known as Saukirani and Precious, in connection with matter.

Chembe Ngamila comes from Mbeza village in the area of Traditional Authority Mduwa in the same district.
