NAM releases Malawi’s Queens Netball World Cup finals squad

The Netball Association of Malawi(NAM) has finally released the final squad for Malawi Queens ahead of the Vitality Netball World Cup scheduled to take place in South Africa from July 28 to August 6,2023.

Players that have made into the final squad are:
Shooters Sindi Simtowe, Mwai Kumwenda, Jane Chimaliro, Joyce Mvula.
Defenders Caroline Mtukule, Lauren Ngwira, Towera Vinkhumbo, Grace Mwafulirwa, Madalitso Mkandawire.
Mid-Court Takondwa Lwazi, Thandi Galeta and Martha Dambo.



Shabel Bengo, Salome Nkhoma and Florence Gamuka have been named on the reserve list.

Speaking in an interview with local media,NAM President Abgail Shariff has however, reminded the selected players that they are not only carrying the hopes of 20 million Malawians but for over one billion people across Africa.

The Malawi team is in Pool B along side England, Scotland and Barbados.

Australia, Tonga, Zimbabwe and Fiji are in Pool A while Jamaica, South Africa, Wales and Sri Lanka are in Pool C.

Pool D contains New Zealand, Uganda, Trinidad & Tobago and Singapore.
