Emmanuel University graduation: Secretary for higher education commends institution’s role in human capital development

The Secretary for Higher Education, Dr. Levis Eneya, has commended Emmanuel University for its significant role in strengthening Malawi’s human capital development through the provision of quality education.

He made the remarks during the university’s second graduation ceremony, held at its campus in Lilongwe.

Dr. Eneya observed that the institution’s initiatives align well with the Malawi 2063 and the National Education Sector Investment Plan (NESIP), both of which prioritize human capital development and improved teacher qualifications.

He further acknowledged the university’s adherence to standards set by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), encouraging all institutions to maintain robust internal quality assurance mechanisms



“Your institution’s commitment to providing quality education is commendable, and it is crucial that all institutions follow suit to ensure that our human capital development needs are met,” Dr. Eneya said.

He urged the graduates who have attained diplomas and degrees in education programs to use their education to contribute meaningfully to national development and extend their impact beyond the classroom.

Emmanuel University Chancellor, Archbishop Mark Kambalazaza, emphasized the institution’s commitment to providing inclusive, relevant, and equality-based education that equips graduates to contribute to both national and global economies.

He highlighted the university’s focus on producing graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also equipped with the skills necessary to make a positive impact in their communities.

The graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone for the university, as it continues to play a vital role in shaping Malawi’s future leaders and professionals.
