As part of encouraging its students to work hard in their studies, one of the country’s leading learning institutions Maranatha International Academy on Friday awarded seven of its Form Four-star performers in the 2022/2023 mock exams.
The school also awarded six hard working teachers so as they continue working hard.
The top student, Esther Chavula, who scored six points in the mock examinations went away with K200 000 while the other students were given K100 000 each.
A teacher, Montfort Mitungwi went away with K5 million, while others were given K1 million each.
Apart from the awards, the academy’s managing director, Ernest Kaonga pledged to continue offering scholarships to best-performing students in national examinations.
He said: “We believe the move will increase competition in classes and improve performance in the MSCE examinations.”
Maranatha International Academy is one of the best performing private schools in Malawi.
For instance, during the 2022 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations results, 402 out of 410 candidates at the school passed the exams,representing 99 percent pass rate.
And out of 402, 210 students scored between 8 to 20 points.
