Dausi tells APM its difficult for DPP to win in 2025
By Linda Kwanjana
On 12 April, 2023, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Publicity Secretary Nicholas Dausi held a press conference at the magnificent Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe where he tackled a number of issues which are affecting the party.
For those who missed the presser, Dausi who was flanked by Parliamentarian Werani Chilenga told Mutharika to declare his intentions if he will contest during the forthcoming national elective convention or not.
Dausi’s presser also tackled issues about endorsement, saying they have information that all the endorsement for Mutharika to stand during the convention is a sponsored charade.
Of late there has been endorsement from Northern region block as well as centre.
But Dausi said all those endorsements currently taking place in the party are illegal and against the party constitution.
During the briefing, Parliamentarian Werani Chilenga announced that DPP Parliamentarians have endorsed Leader of Opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa as their candidate.
Having said that Dausi made a very serious revelation which people did not capture well.
Dausi said it will be very difficult for the opposition DPP to win presidential votes come 2025.
He said the problem is that DPP as a party has not met even a single day to review and brainstorm on what went wrong for the party to lose elections.
He said the party lendered a deaf ear to what people were saying.
With that in the party Dausi said its still a problem for the party to win.
