The Board of Directors of Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC on Tuesday announced that they have completed the acquisition of Bangwe Super Women’s Football team.
The team’s Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe confirmed the development of the local media saying the development means the team is now called Mighty Wanderers Queens.
He said due to the move, the Mighty Wonderers now has four teams to its name, namely, Mighty Mukuru Wonderers FC, Mighty Wonderers Reserve, Wonderers Youth and Mighty Wonderers Queens.
The development is coming ahead of team’s preparations to participate in the Confederation of African Football-CAF champions.
CAF introduced requirements for all football teams to have one women’s team if they are to participate in the African elite cup.
