The inaugural Sycamore Consult Golf Tournament has come to a close, with Bose Kamphulusa and Honest Chirwa emerging as the overall winners. The tournament, held at Blantyre Sports Club, attracted over 80 golfers who competed fiercely for the top prize.
The winners took home a grand prize of K200,000, a testament to their skill and strategy on the course.
According to Audrey Mwala, Managing Director of Sycamore Consult Limited, the company sponsored the tournament because golf and business share similar qualities.
“Golf, like business, requires strategic thinking and precision,” Mwala said, adding that, “What happens in golf is also what happens in the corporate world; golf requires you to think just like in business.”
Kamphulusa, one of the winners, said she started the tournament on a rocky note but managed to improve her game to take the top spot. Her determination and skill paid off, earning her a share of the grand prize.
The tournament demonstrates the growing popularity of golf in Malawi and the importance of corporate sponsorship in promoting the sport.
