Former Silver Silver Strikers player ‘Frank Banda’ denies being fired by the club
By Staff Reporter
Former Silver Strikers player Frank Banda has told his former bosses at Silver Strikers to stop spreading news that they have terminated his contract with the club.
Banda has said this after the team announced yesterday that it has terminated the contracts of him and two other senior players namely Blessings Tembo and Taonga Chimodzi due to poor performance.
But speaking to Malawiana Times today, Banda said the truth of the matter is that his contract expired not that he has been fired by the club.
“The truth of the matter is that my contract expired and I had no running contract with the team.
“Silver has terminated the contracts of Blessings Tembo and Taonga Chimodzi who have remained with three or four months contracts.
The midfielder has further urged Silver Strikers officials to tell the nation the truth about his contract and stop spreading lies.
The capital city giants re-signed Banda on a two-year contract after ending his stay with Mozambican giants, US Songo.
He was part of the club’s golden generation which won three back to back TNM Super League titles between 2012 and 2016.
