Embattled Nankhumwa visits Tadikila Mutharika in Prison

The embattled Leader of Opposition in Parliament and troubled DPP Vice President for the Southern Region, Hon. Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa whom is fighting for his survival in the party on Saturday, 10th December 2022 visited Mr Tadikila Mafudza Mutharika currently remanded at Maula Prison for being involved in the trafficking and death of 30 immigrants from Somalia or Ethiopia.
Tadikila became the step son to the former State President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika married Getrude. He was arrested last month in connection with the Mzimba mass grave tragedy.
He, alongside four others were charged with many counts including murder.
Nankhumwa assured Tadikila he was going to do everything to get him released or get a speedy fair trial. It remains to be seen how Nankhumwa who has failed to rescue Mtengowaminga Henry Mussa and others will accomplish Tadikila.
Nankhumwa was also privileged to meet former cabinet ministers Hon. Uladi Mussa and Hon Henry Mussa.
Uladi Mussa is serving a five year sentence for his involvement illegal processing of passports for immigrants while Henry Mussa is awaiting sentencing following his conviction last month for theft of 10 laptops and an industrial gen-set belonging to Government.The current wave of arrests and convictions for DPP’s top leadership has left many wondering whether this entails an end to a thieving and criminal empire or that Chakwera Administration is witch-hunting the DPP’s top leadership.
DPP’s high profile personalities who accompanied Nankhumwa include Regional Governor for the Central Region Hon Kambalame, National Youth Director Hon Dyton Mussa, Regional Director of Women, Mayi Kunje, the Lilongwe Urban District Governor, Hon Mussa Saidi, deputy Treasurer General, Hon Simeon Phiri, Hon Joyce Chitsulo and Hon Ralph Jooma.
