Blue Eagles through to the Airtel Top 8 semifinals

By Staff Reporter

Blue Eagles FC have progressed to the semifinals of the Airtel Top 8 cup despite their 2-0 loss to Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium on Saturday.

Eagles went into this game with a 3 goal advantage following their 3-nil win in the first leg at Nankhaka Stadium.

However on Saturday, Dedza Dynamos looked more determined to turn the tables as they played very well in both halves.

Clement Nyondo scored the first goal for Dynamos in the 65th minute after an assist by Victor Lungu.

Nyondo came again with the second goal 6 minutes before the end of the match after being released by Promise Kamwendo.

This was however too little too late as the home side needed one more goal to force the match into penalties.

The result means that the Area 30 side has won the match 3-2 on aggregate and they will face Mighty Mukuru Wanderers who defeated Mafco FC to reach the semifinals.
