Chakwera calls on Church to rally behind Development Agenda

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera on Sunday, has called on the church in the country to rally behind the government agenda. He was speaking this on Sunday October 3 when he  attended prayers at St Andrews CCAP in Mzuzu.
The President was accompanied by the First Lady Madame Monica Chakwera, Deputy Minister of Defence and MCP’s Second Vice President Harry Mkandawire, Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs Reverend Brian Kamwendo and other senior government and party officials
.
In his address to the congregation, Dr Chakwera called on the church to rally behind government’s development agenda towards achieving Malawi 2063.
“We must accept responsibility for not utilizing resources given to us by God. God expects us to be productive. I pray that Malawians everywhere must rally behind a common vision that embraces our arm, Malawi 2063,” said Chakwera.
Chakwera also emphasised on the need for the church to take a lead in dealing with problems which Malawi is facing.
“When we are faced with a problem, it’s not about what is government doing but what can we do as a church”, said Chakwera.

In his remarks, Deputy General Secretary of CCAP synod of Livingstonia Reverend Isaiah Mhone commended President Chakwera for a number of completed developmental projects in the northern region.
