President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi, received letters of credence from Tanzania’s newly appointed Ambassador to Malawi, His Excellency Mr. Humphrey Hesron Polepole, at Kamuzu Palace on Thursday morning.
Ambassador Polepole used the occasion to pledge Tanzania’s support for President Chakwera’s efforts to lay the foundations of an inclusively wealthy and self-reliant economy commensurate with the Malawi 2063 Vision.
Toward that end, the Ambassador reiterated Tanzania’s commitment to ensuring that Malawi has direct and unhindered access to the sea for the exportation and importation of various commodities, in line with the continental aspirations of the African Continental Free Trade Area and the regional integration agenda of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the 16-member bloc of nations chaired by President Chakwera.
