The Malawi Revenue Authority says it is optimistic that it will meet the 1.1 trillion kwacha revenue collection target as set by government.Government gave the revenue collector till June end to collect money amounting 1.1 trillion kwacha.
Speaking to the media, Steve Kapomoma, Corporate affairs manager for MRA said having managed to meet monthly targets in the past two months, they are optimistic they will collect the said amount money in the given timeframe.
Kapomona said at the moment, the MRA has established a number of strategies to help them achieve the said target.
Kapoloma has also admitted that their revenue collection drive has been affected by the economic impacts of Covid19
